Jack Peterson joined Sloss in March 2002 as Chief Financial Officer and became Executive Vice President – Commercial Property in July 2005. Mr. Peterson is the senior executive responsible for implementation and administration of commercial strategies and initiatives, acquisition and disposition. Mr. Peterson also manages Cahaba Community Development, Sloss’ New Market Tax Credit Program.
Prior to joining Sloss, Mr. Peterson served as Senior Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer of Daniel Corporation and subsidiaries, a firm where he was employed from 1983 to 2002. Mr. Peterson began his career in investment banking in 1979 and has participated in or conducted transactions primarily real estate, oil & gas, and cable TV. Mr. Peterson continues to participate in BEAUCO, successor to two firms he founded earlier in his career, and is currently serving as a board member of RESITrust.
Mr. Peterson graduated from Florida State University where he was awarded a B.S. and M.B.A. in 1977 and 1979, respectively, and is a licensed Alabama real estate broker with reciprocity in Florida. Mr. Peterson is also an active beekeeper, producing and wholesaling his honey under the "Jack's Happy Bee's" label, and is a member of the Jefferson County and the Alabama Beekeepers' Associations.
