Congratulations to one of our amazing tenants, Momentum Leaders, Alabama’s premier leadership organization dedicated to advancing women leaders in the state of Alabama. Momentum is thrilled to unveil the lineup for its 2nd executive leadership class in Huntsville and its 21st Birmingham leadership class. Building upon 21 years of impactful work in Birmingham, Momentum introduced its inaugural Huntsville-based cohort just last year. The excitement continues to build as Amy Gandy, a respected figure with three decades of Huntsville experience, takes the reins as Program Manager.
“I’ve proudly called Huntsville home for 30 years, and I’m genuinely excited about the positive influence Momentum is poised to bring to our region,” shared Amy Gandy, Program Manager. She keenly understands the challenges that women can face in male-dominated industries like aerospace, defense, IT, bioscience, and manufacturing. “Navigating these sectors demands resilience, as the journey upwards can be isolating for women leaders. Momentum bridges this gap, uniting women from diverse fields and inviting nationwide experts to nurture their fullest potential.”
The new class members kick off their leadership journey with an orientation and two-day retreat scheduled for September. This dynamic nine-month program is a fusion of personal and professional growth, thoughtfully tailored to the unique experiences of women leaders. Soft skills and business acumen, seen through the lens of female leadership, shape the curriculum. As women progress into leadership roles, they encounter distinct hurdles. Momentum’s time-tested approach—embracing self-discovery, envisioning possibilities, strategizing actions, and fostering community connections—has for over two decades brought about profound positive changes in women’s lives.
